Tuatara Brewery hopes to turn Kapiti into a Mangatainoka...

Tuatara Brewing is a success story that started in Kapiti Coast's Reikorangi with a 50-litre home brew operation...and is now moving down the road to Paraparaumu.  "We will be just like the big boys, but on a smaller scale", says owner Carl Vasta.  At the new site a tasting room will be developed where people can come try the beer and take away samples.  At one stage Wellington had been considered for the new brewery, but the owners are delighted to be keeping it in Kapiti.  They say "Kapiti is like the pantry of Wellington, where people come for fine food and beverages and we want to fit in to that".  Mr Vasta says there is a beer for everyone in their range...from the lightly hopped lager, through to the pale ale.
